It all started at my first OBGYN appointment after I found out I was pregnant.  After going through all of the basics of pregnancy and the “get to know you” questions, my doctor asked me what personal care products I used.  More specifically if I used retinols.  I told her I did, in an eye cream, and she told me to immediately stop.  It could harm my growing baby.  That’s when the lightbulb went off.  If it can hurt my baby, can it hurt me?

What followed soon after opened my eyes and brain to a whole new way of looking at the things that I bring into my (and my family’s) environment and put in and on our bodies.  When I started shopping for my sweet baby to be, I started noticing a recurring term, “BPA (Bisphenol A) Free,” on lots of plastic items (bottles, bowls, cups, utensils, toys).  After doing some research, I learned that BPA is a chemical used in the production of plastic that is an endocrine disruptor.  Awesome.  This soon snowballed into organic food, VOC (volatile organic compounds) off-gassing content of paint and other household items, fragrances in diapers, and so on.  Quite honestly, I started getting overwhelmed.  I started stressing and feeling frantic.  I had to get it right for my sweet, soon to be baby.  But where to start?

So this is why I’m here- to help you bypass the stress, worry and endless hours of research and give you recommendations and easy access to SAFER products that I found through my journey that I love.  So, let’s get started!
